This is a 2" plein air style frame. It is ridged on the outside edge working down onto a smooth flat panel graduating smooth inner lips. It is a hand made, all wood (not resin, not moulded, not plastic) closed corner frame. Closed corner means the raw wood frame was cut and joined and then layers of finishing (distressing, staining, antiquing, lacquering) were put on creating an almost seamless corner. It is the same step taken to make the most expensive frames in the world. It is a very rich, hand laid metal leaf frame with Old World broken leaf lines approximately every 6 inches. A subtle grey wash is wiped into the lines to give this frame a expensive look. We guarantee you will love the value in this frame.
